If you're a Broadway fan and you're not already watching Pushing Daisies, start watching now!  It stars Lee Pace (who I saw Off-Broadway in the play Small Tragedy years ago) and Anna Friel (who also has some stage credits, though I've never seen her live).  The amazing Kristin Chenoweth is a co-star and gets to sing often, which is fabulous.  The show was created by Bryan Fuller, who wrote another of my fave shows, the short-lived Wonderfalls (check it out on DVD).P

The last few weeks have been tough for Broadway (a few shows have announced closing already in the last couple weeks).  The one upside to this is that it's a lot easier to get cheap show tickets now.  Just about every show is turning up on the TKTS board these days.  Personally, though, I still prefer to use discount codes, since it saves me time.  My latest favorite place to get codes is www.nytix.com, since it pretty much collects all of them in one place.  (They also have some cool content, like theater profiles and 'theater business' articles.)  

Speaking of theater ... I saw The Seagull a few days ago, and frankly I don't see what the big raves are about.  It's a great play of course, and Kristin Scott Thomas is pretty terrific, but Peter Sarsgaard is WAY off.  I love him as an actor in general, but he's just ... odd as Trigorin.  I do think the production is worth seeing if you can get really cheap tickets or you're a billionaire and don't mind throwing around money, but I definitely wouldn't recommend paying anything near full price for it.

Wow, first post - this is kind of intimidating.  Hello, Vox!  This seems like a cool site, but I'm still sort of figuring it out.  I'm a really big musical theater fan, so Broadway is kind of my life!  But I love taking advantage of all the amazing things to do in New York City (where I live).  Museums, concerts, comedy clubs, shopping, restaurants, you name it.  There's always something to do here.  But mostly theater  :)  Anyway, glad to be here!
